O’Hare, who will report to Nathalie Dauriac-Stoebe, the founder and chief executive of Signia Wealth, will focus primarily on the investment arm of the firm’s ultra-high net worth business. He will also work closely with the commercial team to expand its investment offering.
He spent seven years at SG Hambros, where he served as chief investment officer, responsible for chairing the investment committee and the management of the investment business. Before this, he was a senior portfolio manager at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (now BlackRock).
O’Hare’s recruitment is the latest in a series of appointments by Signia, which towards the end of last year managed about £2bn in assets for 78 clients. As International Adviser revealed in a profile feature last month, the company plans to launch an office in Switzerland this year.
